BTS would not have to enlist for mandatory military service
BTS is at the most successful moment of their entire career, counting on numbers that no other K-pop artist has ever achieved. Even so, the members of this group must begin to enlist in mandatory military service from 2020, which has aroused the concern of their fans or ARMY. Despite this, everything seems to indicate that the laws of South Korea are giving the honor to this boy band to omit said compulsory military service.
The South Korean government announced that they will be releasing new statements next month about mandatory military service enlistment laws. In this way, everything seems to announce that new laws will be created that allow artists from that country to evade this obligation that often puts their careers in the entertainment industry at risk.
BTS reportedly getting rid of enlisting in mandatory military service after new South Korean laws
The oldest member of BTS, Jin, should start his military enlistment by 2020 following the culture of that country. Even so, everything seems to indicate that this member would be freeing himself from this obligation after the new laws of South Korea, which could announce that idols would not have to enlist in mandatory military service.
This would be getting the ARMY excited, who had asked that all BTS members enlist together for mandatory military service to avoid losing so much popularity in the music industry. Thus, instead of taking 5 years for all members to complete these tasks, the time would be cut down to 2 years.
For now, the K-pop community is looking forward to the future announcements that the South Korean government will make. Even so, everything seems to indicate that BTS and other K-pop artists would finally begin to have special treatment, by not having to go through the mandatory military service that this nation continues to demand.
