Giroud led Milan's comeback at San Siro
The Milan derby had a prominent name, Olivier Giroud, who scored both goals in Milan's historic comeback against Inter.
The match took place this Saturday at the San Siro, where the Milanese teams met in a tough match corresponding to matchday 24 of Serie A.
On this occasion, Inter were local and took advantage of their condition to generate the clearest chances in the first few minutes. A total domain of the 'nerazzurri' characterized the first half and the attack was led by Perisic and Dumfries.
The Dutchman scored a headed goal that was disallowed for being offside. For his part, the Croatian opened the scoring for the locals at minute 38, by connecting a corner that ended up sending the ball into the back of the net.
In the same way, the attackers Dzeko and Lautaro Martínez generated a lot of danger in the goal defended by Maginan, who had a great performance not to let himself be beaten again, which, without a doubt, influenced the comeback of the 'rossonero' team.
This would end the first half with the score 1-0. However, the team led by Stefano Pioli began to reach the rival goal with greater depth, although without generating dangerous plays in the area defended by Handanovic.
However, the coach of the visiting team, at minute 60, would enter Brahim Díaz, who would bring freshness and collective game that little by little would cause the 'nerazurri' to be cornered in their area.
Precisely, at minute 75 Giroud steals a ball from Alexis Sánchez and from that moment a counterattack is generated directed by Tonali, who drives it from the center of the field and then passes it to Brahim, who launches a deflected shot that went wide, but Giroud arrives in time to push the ball to the bottom of the net and thus put the tie on the scoreboard.
Three minutes later, Giroud himself would receive a pass in the area from Davide Calibria on the right and the Frenchman, receiving from behind, quickly turned and shot across to achieve the comeback. Just three minutes was enough for Milan and Giroud to turn the score around!
With this result Milan consolidates itself in second place with 52 points and one from Inter who, with 53, is the leader and with one game in hand.
