The EU will continue to send weapons to Ukraine and increase sanctions on Russia
Josep Borrel, High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs of the European Union, affirmed that "all the necessary weapons" will continue to be supplied to Ukraine, to face the Russian troops that began the invasion of this country since February 24.
Similarly, he assured that the sanctions against Russia will be increased if it does not give in to a ceasefire and stop the war that has claimed thousands of lives of Ukrainians, both civilians and soldiers, and more than 2 million refugees.
Among the measures is to neutralize the economy of Moscow, as well as that of the president of that nation, Vladimir Putin, as well as that of large businessmen linked to the government and external partners.
Although the members of the European Union are staying out of the war, as they do not want a direct conflict with Moscow, they have agreed to redouble the collection of money to finance the arms of Kiev.
"We will increase our contribution to military support to Ukraine by another 500 million," said Borrel, thus amounting to one billion euros in weapons financing.
The support of the EU has marked a historical icon for war support, however, the United States has been the nation that has contributed the most resources to Ukraine.
The US Senate recently approved 13.6 billion dollars, which is equivalent to 13.2 billion euros. Of these resources, 6.7 billion dollars are allocated to the migration crisis. While the rest of the money will be for military support to the invaded country.
