They report an earthquake of 4.5 in the city of Ecuador, Quito
According to information from the IGEPN, in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, an earthquake was reported yesterday morning.
The Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School reported that the natural disaster that was reported around 11:00 yesterday, had a depth of 4.3 kilometers and its epicenter was 13.45 kilometers from Quito.
The great magnitude of the same alarmed in several areas of the capital, because it caused landslides, and great rumbles in the buildings; in addition to generating stone falls in the Guayasamín tunnel, which closed at the time of the events, but was later enabled.
Information according to the inhabitants
Through Social Networks, users reported what they experienced. According to the comments, it was mainly strong in the north, south, center and valleys of Quito.
In the north it was recorded that the structures of the buildings moved excessively, so much that some glass broke, and in some offices the satin ceilings collapsed.
One of the areas that was safe when evacuating in the north of Quito was the Government Platform.
Information according to the entity
The National Service of Risk and Emergency Management of Ecuador, reported that after the earthquake 11 educational establishments in the capital were affected, as well as seven masonry health centers, however everything was resolved at the time to be operational.
Similarly, some land and infrastructure communication routes were affected, but without victims.
For its part, the Fire Department of the Metropolitan District of Quito, is conducting evaluations in different parts of the capital, in order to rule out damages.
Events due to the intensity of the earthquake
Due to its intensity, a cloud of dust from slopes was generated in the northeast specifically in Guápulo, and this was observed in sectors connected to the Cumbayá and Tumbaco valleys.
Something similar happened in Pomasqui, a northwestern parish, where the dust passed the mountains bordering Calderón, a sector in which the earthquake was also strong.
On the other hand, in the south sectors such as Guajaló and San Bartolo reported that the fear was immense due to its strength, and citizens took to the streets and left their houses and buildings.
