Leonardo DiCaprio donated to Ukraine
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis also make a significant financial donation to the country attacked by Russia.
The actor Leonardo DiCaprio donated 10 million dollars in support of Ukraine, after the attacks carried out in the territory by Russia.
This act has a great connection with the actor, since Helene Indenbirken, his maternal grandmother, was born in this country, in the city of Odessa. However, in 1917, he had to emigrate to Spain.
Indenbirken had Irmelin Indenbirken, DiCaprio's mother, in Germany, in a bomb shelter, in 1943.
Leonardo DiCaprio's parents divorced when he was just one year old, so his mother continued to raise the actor.
Because of this, Leonardo always maintained a very close relationship with his maternal grandmother, receiving unconditional support from her in his acting career.
Helene, who died at the age of 93, in 2008, used to attend all the premieres of the films in which Leonardo DiCaprio participated.
The Visegrad International Fund was in charge of announcing the actor's donation. This is a financial project in charge of international initiatives generated by development in Eastern Europe.
Other actors who have joined the charity are Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who announced the donation of three million dollars, in support of the relocation of Ukrainian refugees and humanitarian activities in the country.
The couple explained that their goal is to collect 30 million dollars, so over the weekend they indicated that they have already reached 15 million dollars.
For the actress Mila Kunis, this gesture is very significant, since she was born in 1983, in Chernivtsi, in southern Ukraine, and in 1991 she moved to the United States.
