  • Two eggs

  • A cup of tomato paste.

  • Three sausages (preferably Italian style).

  • Half a cup of Parmesan cheese.

  • One pound of ground beef.

  • Half a large onion.

  • A cup of mascarpone cheese.

  • Two cups of ricotta cheese (this is around 500 grams).

  • Three minced garlic.

  • Salt and pepper to taste.

  • 425 grams of grated mozzarella cheese.

  • A tablespoon of dried basil.

  • A tablespoon of oregano.

Steps to follow for the preparation of lasagna

Note: Due to the length of the recipe, we will divide the execution into several parts.

Meat preparation

  1. With the help of a fork, mash the Italian sausages until it is similar to ground beef.

  2. In a frying pan add a little oil and garlic and sauté the latter for a couple of minutes.

  3. When you notice that the garlic is a little golden, add the ground meat and the crumbled sausage, season with salt, pepper to taste and a little dried parsley. Stir a little and let them cook well.

  1. In a separate pot, add a little oil and turn the stove to medium heat. In this, add a little garlic and half chopped onion and let them sauté until they turn golden.

  2. Pour three types of tomatoes, one in pieces, one in sauce, and the tomato paste.

  3. Later, add salt and pepper to taste, followed by oregano and basil. Stir very well so that the spices are integrated into the sauce. Cover the pot and let them cook for 10 minutes so that they cook well.

  4. Reserve a little of the sauce in a small container and reserve.

  5. After this time, transfer the sauce from the pot to the pan where you had prepared the ground beef. Mix so that the meat is integrated into the sauce. This will make it easier to prepare the layers.

  6. Turn off the stove and reserve the pan with the meat.

  1. In a bowl, pour the ricotta cheese, mascarpone cheese and a little grated Parmesan cheese. Likewise, add two eggs, salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg.

  5. If they run out of space on the tray, place another waxed paper on top of the first layer of sheets and continue laying the next sheets on top.

  3. Place a next layer of the ricotta cheese mixture and spread covering the entire surface. Next, add a layer of meat with sauce, making sure to spread well on the surface.

  4. To this layer of meat and sauce, add a layer of grated mozzarella cheese.

  5. Repeat these layers until you finish your ingredients or there is no room in the container. We finished with a layer of sauce and mozzarella cheese. The end of the layers should always end with cheese.

  6. Grease a piece of aluminum foil with butter and with this cover the container where the lasagna is. Make small holes in the paper so that the lasagna breathes in the oven.

  7. Preheat the oven to 175º C and put the container with the lasagna inside for 45 minutes.

  8. After this period of time, remove the lasagna from the oven, remove the aluminum foil and remove a piece of the lasagna.

  9. Serve the lasagna on a plate, and you can accompany it with pieces of garlic bread and the drink of your choice.
