FBI finds dead a young man who was kidnapped two years ago
Miguel was an athlete and was in his last year of high school.
In May 2020, Miguel Rendón, 19, was kidnapped when he was going to visit his family in Mexico. The FBI was the one who got the young man's body, at the United States border.
A few months after the emergency of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rendón made the decision to travel to Tijuana to see his relatives. This trip ended in tragedy.
Emma Medrano, the young man's mother, said that one night she received a call telling her that her son had been kidnapped.
The subjects told him that they had to pay him to be released. They took it upon themselves to ask him for a large sum of money and never identified themselves.
The woman believed what they were telling her and hung up the call. After a few minutes, they video called her and showed her son while he was tied up and bloodied.
Medrano stated that, at that moment, his heart almost stopped. In the video call, he was able to hear his son's pleas, asking him to pay what they were asking for.
Miguel's parents received threats not to call the police. After a few days, they managed to collect the amount he was requesting.
The father was in charge of taking the money to the place where they indicated that the delivery would take place, while the mother waited in another place where Miguel would supposedly be delivered. However, the young man was never handed over.
After this, they decided to file a complaint, having faith that they would see him again soon.
His family points out that Miguel always smiled and was very funny. The young man had certain learning problems and belonged to a special education center. The mother points out that her son had many goals and now he will not be able to enjoy anything.
