A new Android virus could steal your bank keys
In the world there are a lot of dangers to which users are exposed every day. Cybercriminals are increasingly refining their techniques to be able to get hold of people's personal data. Even if you are very careful, you can still fall victim to a virus.
On this occasion, a new Android Trojan called Xenomoph appeared and has been deployed mainly in Europe. This is a virus whose purpose is to extract the banking credentials of its victims.
What is Xenomorph?
This is a Trojan which is being distributed through high demand applications. The way this Trojan works is to collect banking information from the victim, including two-factor authentication information.
According to experts, so far it has been confirmed that this Trojan is affecting some 56 European banking institutions. The affected banking institutions are from four different countries: Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Spain. The most affected country so far has been Spain, where 28 banking institutions are affected.
But this virus not only attacks your bank account information, it also spreads to cryptocurrency wallets and email. Without a doubt, this is one of the most dangerous Android viruses in recent years.
How to avoid being a victim of Xenomorph?
You already know the capabilities and how this virus works, so there is only one way to protect yourself from it. You should avoid downloading applications from the PlayStore as much as possible until the virus is removed from the store.
Google is working to stop the spread of this virus, so it's a matter of time before they can debug the store. So it is recommended not to download anything unless it is strictly necessary.
Similarly, downloading files outside of the app store is not recommended, as you will be much more likely to fall victim to a virus.
What apps are being affected by Xenomorph?
Next, we leave you the complete list of all the applications that are affected by this virus. In the event that you use any of these applications, you must be very careful, since you could be a victim.
