Artists cancel presentation in Cuba
The Granma newspaper had reported that the most important presentation of the San Remo Festival would be starring Kalimba, Andy and Lucas and Alex Ubago.
Despite the announcement of their presentation at the San Remo Festival, which will take place in Cuba from April 5 to 10, different artists decided to cancel their participation.
Kalimba, Andy and Lucas and Alex Ubago made the announcement public, also denouncing the Cuban regime and the situation on the island.
This is the first Ibero-American edition of the Italian festival. Lis Cuesta, wife of the Cuban ruler is one of the organizers of the event, in addition to being coordinator of the Events Committee of the Ministry of Culture.
Cuesta declared that the country's cultural staff aims to re-launch Cuban culture to the world.
He assured that this activity will be a good opportunity for friends, solidarity, tourism, and all the benefits of the Island.

Luke
Lucas, from the musical duo Andy and Lucas, declared that they do not support any dictatorial regime, nor peoples who go hungry, much less people who imprison children. They assure that they will not attend the event because they are not willing to cover patches.
He insisted in the video that they are not in favor of any dictatorship, and even less in favor of a regime that has a drowned people.
He assured that he was unaware that this festival was organized by the Miguel Díaz-Canel regime.
alex ubago
The Spanish artist decided to cancel his participation, after obtaining information about the organization of the event.
In social networks, he assured that, after learning about the organization of the event and knowing the situation in the country, he considers that he should not go.
He also thanked the fans for their understanding, knowing that the island's fans were very excited about his performance.
Kalimba
The Mexican also joined the solidarity and canceled his presentation. He explained that he did it with great pain, since this was a dream for him, since he is the son of a Cuban.
In a video shared on Instagram, he commented that he is leaving the San Remo Festival, and that with his heart in his hand, he cancels his presentation.
He affirmed that it is very difficult for him to see the suffering of his Cuban brothers and it is not difficult for him to decide for a dignified life, for justice, for the people, for human rights.
He insisted that his heart is very hurt not by the decision but by the situation of the Cuban people.
The committee in charge of the event maintains its certainty that this will be a unique event, in which international and national musicians will share Cuban stages, over the course of several days.
The official press reported that the Cuban musicians have already confirmed their presentation. Among them are: Raúl Paz, Adrián Berazaín, Ernesto Blanco, Buena Fe, David Blanco, Waldo Mendoza, Alain Pérez, Jorgito Karamba and Telmary.
