Avengers: Endgame dethrones Avatar and becomes the highest grossing movie in history
Yesterday, during the Marvel panel at Comic Con 2019, the studio confirmed that Avengers: Endgame had already surpassed Avatar's box office record, becoming the highest grossing movie in movie history. This would mark a new achievement for this renowned Marvel universe.
Avengers: Endgame took this record by surpassing the figure of 2,789 million dollars raised worldwide. In this way, he would be dethroned to the film Avatar by James Cameron, which maintained the achievement for up to 10 years.
Alan Horn, Co-President and Chief Creative Officer of The Walt Disney Studios, spoke in this regard congratulating the wonderful work of Marvel Studios :
Big congratulations to the Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios teams, and thanks to the fans around the world who took 'Avengers: Endgame' to this historic heights.
Avengers: Endgame had already achieved a record for being the most successful premiere in the entire history of cinema, managing to generate 1,224 million dollars in its first week of release.
Shawn Robbins, chief analyst at Boxoffice.com, a website that tracks collection statistics for all films, spoke about this great achievement that Marvel Studios achieved:
'Endgame' has cemented the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the cornerstone of modern myths that will be passed down to generations of fans. That would have been true regardless of his monetary position in relation to 'Avatar' Never before has audiences experienced an episodic and cinematic journey in an 11-year span. It's almost impossible to predict something like that, just like 'Avatar''s own run was quite unexpected. In a way, they share that common bond ”.
All this achievement seems to indicate that the recently announced phase 4 of the Marvel universe will be equal to or even more successful than this score of films that the studio brought in its last phase. In this way, the entire public is waiting for the next releases of Marvel Studios.
