Mariúpol: the city of Ukraine with the most forceful blows of the War
Today what was the beautiful city of Mariupol, now lives the torment of the Russian invasion.
Rubble, laziness, abandonment and continuous bombing is the only thing that can now be found in Mariúpol. This port city, located in the southwest of Ukraine, has completely lost the essence of its beauty.
Many of its citizens managed to flee the fearsome Russian attack; however, many of those left behind have lost their lives, while others take refuge in basements even before the alarms sound.
It is estimated that only in this city there are until now, 03/18/2022, about 2,100 dead civilians without counting military personnel. It was called the martyr city of the war and although in many ways it still resists, today many of its inhabitants are still wanted among the rubble.
What happened to the Mariupol theater?
An iconic place in the city, taken over as a refugee center, was bombed for no reason by Russian troops. A satellite image shows that on the outskirts of the site they had written with stones the presence of children inside the place.
Now, there is no exact number of deaths from the bombing carried out on the site, however, the search has not been easy for the volunteers, since the theater housed some 1,000 people and whose survivors were still rising from the rubble.
The Mariúpol Maternal and Child Hospital was also the target of bombing
Another of the most controversial cases raised in the city of Mariupol was the attack on the Maternity and Child Hospital. The image that travels the world had greater connotation when it was learned that both the mother and the baby had died after the attack.
It was about a pregnant woman evacuated after being bombed by Russian troops. Although the doctors did their best to save the baby's life, he was born dead.
The mother suffered post-traumatic shock and was treated with the greatest effort, but her soul vanished with the news of her son's death, thus causing his death.
This was a very controversial event and cataloged as a direct attack on the motherhood of every woman.
Mariupol, Ukrainians hope that everything ends now
Many are eagerly waiting for this traumatic event to end for the people of Ukraine. The hope of achieving mediation and peace are becoming stronger.
Although we speak of thousands of lives lost due to the continuous bombing, we also see the large-scale destruction that the different cities attacked are experiencing.
Without forgetting the migratory process that they are experiencing, the enormous number of Ukrainians who made the decision to leave in order to live.
Respect for humanity, territory and customs is what is longed for by the rest of the world's governments. Something that has not yet been finalized. We don't know how many more people will lose their lives before this war is over, but we do hope it will be soon.
