Nike will leave Russia after definitively suspending operations
Nike is another of the international firms that join in withdrawing from Russia, after the invasion of that country in Ukraine.
The sports brand, manufacturer of clothing and shoes, has decided to leave Russia completely, this, three months after it had announced its departure.
In March this year, Nike Inc. suspended operations at all its company-owned, company-managed stores in Russia. This was made known through a statement issued by email last Thursday.
The Russian newspaper Vedomosti noted that Nike had already ended its relationship with Inventive Retail Group, its main franchise in the country.
In this sense, the company expressed the following:
"Our priority is to ensure that we fully support our employees as we responsibly scale down our operations over the coming months."
This measure for Nike is symbolic, since the sports brand obtains less than 1% of its income from Ukraine and Russia combined.
