Tom Cruise to star in Top Gun Maverick

Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday to promote the upcoming "Top Gun: Maverick."

In the trailer you can see great sensations, but it is not about expert pilots who fight against machines, this time they are fighting against drones.

The first trailer for the film, which premiered at the panel, offers a small perspective on Cruise and Joseph Kosinski's vision. Originally slated for a 2019 release, Paramount postponed the film until 2020 to tweak its flight sequences.

Joe Kosinski, director of "Oblivion" is directing the film, a sequel to 1986's "Top Gun," from a screenplay by Peter Craig, Justin Marks and Eric Warren Singer. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the first film with the late Don Simpson, will produce with Cruise and Skydance CEO David Ellison.

The trailer is scenes of nostalgia peppered with flat stunts. This time it starts in a desert, with a speed test going through the sand.

“Everything you see in this movie is real. We are working with the Navy. I wanted to give you an experience of being inside that plane. "

We also see Maverick attending a Navy funeral. With the rumors that Goose may die in this sequel, it could very well be his emotional farewell.

The original film was a huge success, grossing more than $ 350 million worldwide on a budget of $ 15 million.

Top Gun: Maverick, starring Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, Ed Harris, Jon Hamm, Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Manny Jacinto and Monica Barbaro, will be available on June 26, 2020.

Jennifer Connelly has a great role, as does Miles Teller, who will play Goose's son and Maverick's new protégé. Goose, the co-pilot of Cruise's character in the original, was played by Anthony Edwards.
