Atlético de Madrid: 5 positive cases for Covid-19
Footballers are isolated at home
None had serious symptoms. Some players test positive for the first time, while others, this is their second contagion.
This Wednesday, PCR tests were carried out on the players and the training staff of Atlético de Madrid, they have distinguished five positives in Covid-19: coach Diego Simeone, midfielders Koke Resurrección and Héctor Herrera and forwards Joao Félix and Antoine Griezmann, who are "all asymptomatic" and "confined at home," according to the club.
Despite the fact that the infected had tested negative in the antigen tests, at the time of the PCR test, the results were shown that the footballers Héctor Herrera, Joao Félix, Koke Resurrección, and Antoine Griezmann, tested positive.
The test of the team coach Diego Simeone also showed positive, so none of them will be accessible for next Sunday's game against Rayo Vallecano at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
None of them will be able to participate in said event. Like the French attacker, Griezman, since he is out because he is recovering from a muscle injury.
Those who would have been starters in Sunday's game against Rayo, Koke and Joao Félix, will not be able to intervene either, after the results of the PCR.
The agreement indicates that the guidelines of the Ministry of Health of each respective Autonomous Community must be followed, for this reason they must remain in strict quarantine.
According to the data that appear on the page of the authorities of the Community of Madrid, as of today, the established quarantine is 7 days of isolation, from the day on which they began to have a fever, sore throat, respiratory distress, tiredness, diarrhea, loss of smell and taste. And in case of being asymptomatic, until the next test is negative.
On the official website of the Community of Madrid, they add that, the isolation must be prolonged until 3 days have passed without symptoms.
As for the Atlético players and their mentor, as the club has announced, they are generally asymptomatic.
The athletes Joao Félix, Héctor Herrera and Simeone, previously encountered a similar circumstance last season, when they also had to disassociate themselves for experiencing Covid-19.
In the Atlético de Madrid statement, published before morning training at the Ciudad Deportiva de Majadahonda, they reported that, after the league break, all the squad and people from the coaching staff of the first squad underwent PCR tests, as marked by the LaLiga convention.
They indicated that Simeone, Koke, Griezmann, Herrera and Joao Félix are asymptomatic and confined in their private homes, complying with the recommendations and indications proposed by the well-being specialists.
The rest of the team has tested negative for PCR; news that encourages group preparation, when this Wednesday they had only exercised independently, waiting for those results.
