Sinaloa Cartel Operator captured in the middle of a baptism
A video captured this Friday, February 18, shows the moment in which José Bryan Salgueiro Zepeda, nicknamed "El 90", is arrested inside a church, located in an exclusive area of Culiacán.
The operation where "el 90" was arrested, accused of being an operator of the Sinaloa Cartel, was carried out while he was in the middle of a baptism mass.
Everything was executed under a joint effort by the Attorney General of the State of Chihuahua, the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) and the National Anti-Kidnapping Coordination.
Salgueiro Zepeda was one of the most wanted by the authorities in Mexico.
He had a complaint for kidnapping; and in addition, there were other accusations that triggered his arrest in the capital of the State of Sinaloa, a strategic location for the drug trafficking group, in the Mexican Pacific.
The video began to circulate on social networks; and in it there is evidence of two agents wearing balaclavas and approaching him from behind, while the accused was distracted, listening to the words of the priest of the Las Quintas church, located in a high-class area of Culiacán.
Salgueiro had already been identified as a "lieutenant" of the criminal group in the state of Chihuahua, in the north of the country. The respective authorities hold him responsible for being "the main criminal operator in the entity."
The kidnapping in which Salgueiro allegedly participated, happened in May 2020, but it was not until now that they were able to capture him and take him on a Military Forces aircraft, directly before a control judge, to take the necessary measures and determine the legal situation of the defendant.
