The United States ensures that Russia's invasion of Ukraine can begin at any time
The United States has considered that they are at the height of the crisis between NATO and Russia with Ukraine
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has stated that Europe is at a time when a Russian invasion could take place at any time.
He also explained that it could take place during the Olympic Games, stating that the sporting event, which ends on February 20, would not stop Russia's plans to attack Ukraine.
The US Secretary of State, in the middle of his trip to Australia, added that the Alliance continues to perceive signs of a strong arms build-up by Russia; and in his statements he stated that the soldiers continue to arrive at the Ukrainian border.
diplomatic failures
The concern of NATO and the United States has increased after all diplomatic attempts have failed.
A few days ago, Emmanuel Macron, President of France, visited Putin in Moscow where they held a meeting to seek diplomatic solutions to the conflict.
No progress was reportedly made at the meeting and he highlighted Putin's indifference in sitting the French president on a pole of a four-meter-long table.
The authorities would have assured that this decision was made because the French commission refused to carry out a PCR test.
Another of the failures in recent days occurred in Berlin, where the representatives of Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany set up a negotiating table, where they met for more than nine hours and all the parties withdrew without making any progress.
In addition, neither party assured that another meeting would take place.
Meanwhile, Liz Tuss, the British foreign secretary, met in Russia with her Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov. At the end of the meeting, Lavrov would classify it as "a dialogue between the deaf and the dumb" referring to the fact that no progress or agreements were made.
From the West they have sent threats to Russia to carry out sanctions, while from Moscow they demand that the shipment of weapons to Ukrainian territory be stopped.
On the other hand, Russia and Belarus are developing the largest military exercises in their history, and it is estimated that they will end on the same day as the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games.
The military exercises, for which there are no records of exercises of such magnitude, have with them tens of thousands of troops, air-to-ground missile batteries, anti-aircraft systems and combat aircraft.
In its entirety, the congregation of Russian soldiers on the Ukrainian border reaches the number of 130,000 soldiers, being the largest concentration of an army since the end of the Second World War.
On the other hand, Russia continues with operations in the Black Sea, where it uses the ports of Crimea, a territory annexed to Russia in 2014.
Russia has maintained its demands that NATO not allow Ukraine to join the alliance, in addition to withdrawing its presence in Eastern Europe.
This request has been denied by the European Union. NATO soldiers have doubled their presence in recent hours in the Baltic countries and also in Bulgaria, where Spain has sent fighter jets.
Spanish Air Force in Bulgaria
This Friday, from the Albacete Air Base, four Eurofighter combat planes from the 14 Brigade of the Air Force took off to join NATO operations at the Graf Ignatievo base.
This is a brigade made up of 130 soldiers. Some of the soldiers were already in Bulgaria preparing the required logistics.
The four planes arrived this Friday and have been called the Strela Aerotactical Detachment.
Days ago, Spain had assured that it would not send soldiers or weapons for the Ukraine crisis, unleashing a great controversy.
For this reason, from the Spanish Ministry of Defense, they have ensured that the military deployment consists of routine activities in compliance with the international agreements of Spain for the deterrence and defense of the countries belonging to NATO.
Joe Biden's position
Joe Biden, President of the United States, advised Americans who are on Ukrainian territory to leave the country “now”.
Biden reiterated that it is best to leave Ukraine, assuring that it is not a terrorist organization but the largest army in the world.
In addition, he stressed that the situation can get out of control at any time.
In the interview, Biden assures that they do not plan rescue operations for Americans residing in Ukrainian territory, since "it would be a world war from the moment the Americans and Russians start shooting"
On January 23, Biden issued a withdrawal order to the relatives of diplomats from his embassy in the country, in the face of the Russian military threat, adding that diplomatic personnel could withdraw if he considered it convenient.
In turn, he reiterated to Americans in Ukraine that security, especially in Crimea and Donetsk, is unpredictable and could be compromised at any moment.
According to the media, a senior US official said that Russia has deployed 70% of the troops needed to carry out the invasion.
Subsequently, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US ambassador to the UN, assured that Kiev can be attacked within 48 hours.
In addition, he assured that they continue with the mission to dissuade Russia from taking armed action.
On the other hand, Biden highlighted Putin's intelligence not to do something that negatively affects the citizens of the United States.
