They develop a prototype breathalyzer to detect COVID-19
Researchers in Singapore design a device that detects the coronavirus even in asymptomatic people.
In the fight against Covid-19, not only drugs or vaccines are found, but technological science is also added to this, for this reason, some Asian scientists generate a mechanism with which this disease can be detected.
The scientist who leads this new creation is Xing Yi Ling, together with the other creators, they emphasize that this creation is to have a convenient, fast and accurate test.
The authors assure that this new tool could reduce the silent spread of the disease in communities, thanks to its.
Design and use
The design of the new device has a chip with three Raman scattering sensors, all of them enhanced on their surfaces, joined in turn by silver nanocubes.
Among its uses, it is compared to a breathalyzer, because in addition to its design, to detect the person's condition, they must exhale for 10 seconds, thus allowing their breath to interact with the sensors.
Once this step has been carried out, those specialized in the prototype will be able to detect in a matter of 5 minutes if the person is positive or not for Covid-19.
