Unzip and Compress .gz, .tar.gz, and .zip by console in Linux

.Tar files:

Package: tar -cvf package.tar / dir / a / package / Unpack: tar -xvf package.tar

The TAR file format is common on Linux and Unix systems, but only to store data, not compress it.

.Gz files:

Compress: gzip -9 file.txt.gz Decompress: gzip -d file.txt.gz

With this command we will only compress an already packaged or regular file

.Zip files:

Compress: zip file.zip folder Decompress: unzip archivo.zip

.Tar.gz files:

Compress: tar -czvf packed-compressed.tar.gz / folder / to / pack-compress / Decompress: tar -xzvf file.tar.gz
