Video: At least 17 people are murdered during a wake in Michoacán, Mexico
The FGE of Michoacán reported that the bodies of the victims were not found at the crime scene, which was also cleaned.
On the afternoon of this Sunday, February 27, a wake that took place in the town of San José de Gracia, in the state of Michoacán, Mexico; was clouded with blood when at least 17 of the attendees were killed in the middle of the street.
According to the first information, an armed group broke into the wake and took out several of the attendees to later shoot them.
The execution was recorded by residents of the area and the video was broadcast on social networks, where it is observed how the attackers check some vehicles while the victims are lined up against the wall with their hands raised.
Subsequently, the armed subjects open fire, leaving everything in a cloud of dust.
According to testimonies from the locals, the perpetrators of the act belong to a criminal gang that had to flee the area due to conflicts with another criminal group and returned to take revenge.
The bodies of the multiple homicide do not appear
The Michoacán State Attorney General's Office (FGE) reported through a statement that the Specialized Crime Scene Unit (UEEC) carried out the investigations at the scene of the crime, where they did not find the bodies of the victims.
Additionally, they point out in the brief that they did find bags with containers of cleaning products and the place where the murders occurred had just been cleaned.
On the other hand, they seized two vehicles and a motorcycle, which were hit by the shots, as well as firearm cartridges calibers 9 mm, 7.72, 5.56 and 45 mm.
In this regard, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), indicated that they are investigating to determine what happened and expressed, "I wish with all my soul that it is not as the media is claiming".
Elements of the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), the National Guard (GN) and the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) participate in the search operation.
