West Side Story: Ariana DeBose as Steven Spielberg's Anita

On Instagram was shared the first image of Ariana DeBose, as the Anita of West Side Story the photo was published at the hands of Amblin.

After 5 years of Steven Spielberg expressing his interest in the project, the director went to work to recreate the production of the years 1961 that was adapted by Richard Beymer and Natalie Wood of protagonists. The movie, written by Tony Kushner (Lincoln), will be closer to the original Broadway show of 1957.

The & remax which is directed by Steven Spielberg it began recording in mid-June after announcing a release date for December 2020. After this a photo of the cast is shared in which Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver) and Rachel Zegler are the new Tony and Maria.

The film will tell the story of West Side Story and will circulate around Maria (Zegler) and Tony (Elgort), in love and whose relationship will be affected in the Upper West Side of the mid 50s.
