Cocaine becomes a problem for Amsterdam
Every year the use of cocaine increases in Amsterdam. The (legislative) city council accuses the police of the little knowledge they have about the zones and distributions of this consumption, while the police respond that they do everything possible to stop it.
From now on, Amsterdam will be known as a cocaine capital in Europe. The mafias control the main streets where this product is distributed and there are even some pages on the internet that use secret words to invite them to their bars in order to consume cocaine.
A report presented by the Amsterdam city council assures that there are 20 groups dedicated to drug distribution, but there are only 5 chiefs in charge of the entire operation. Now, this is becoming a business for those who are unemployed. Since they become small distributors or people in charge of controlling traffic on the streets.
The report assures that the city moves around 75 million euros a year in cocaine. However, the same report ensures that this figure may be three times that suggested, since only one study was carried out in a small infiltrated part.
The Amsterdam city council is concerned about the safety, economy and tourism of the city. They believe that it is becoming a perfect facade for criminals, since the tourist in this city is received with open doors and is seldom persecuted by the authorities.
However, they say that the police have not done their job well. They do not know who the leaders of these organizations are, how they operate and where they are located. The mayor's office assures that if this problem continues, cocaine trafficking will be the biggest problem in the next 5 years.
The government of the Netherlands is surprised by this report and assures that they will take shock measures to stop the distribution of cocaine in their main city.
