The United States claims that China prepares military forces to take Taiwan
The United States assures that the Chinese government, headed by President Xi Jinping, is preparing the Armed Forces of that country to take Taiwan by force.
This was stated by the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, who also added that they are aware that China has the ability to take the island, however, it does not mean that they are going to invade it.
In the same order of ideas, he explained that the Xin Jinping government set itself the goal of having control over Taiwan by 2027, which for Milley is very "ambitious" and is something that "we must take into account as we move forward in the future".
For his part, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Wenbin emphasized that the position of the United States with respect to Taiwan has been ambiguous, since, on the one hand, it has said that it does not support independence, and on the other hand it sells arms. and has direct contact with island authorities.
Taipei has been self-managed since 1949, and Washington has been one of the governments that does not recognize the Taiwanese government, but neither does it accept that China takes control again.
For their part, other rulers still see the island as part of China, such is the case of Russia. It should be noted that Beijing opposes any type of transaction that goes beyond their interests or that something is done that is against its central policy.
