Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sex trafficking
He was indicted on charges of conspiracy to sex traffic minors.
Last Tuesday, Ghislaine Maxwell, the right hand of sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein, was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Among the charges against him is providing minors to the financier, so that he sexually abused underage girls.
60-year-old Maxwell was convicted, after being charged with about five crimes of sex trafficking, which are related to the recruitment and training of adolescents to sexually satisfy Epstein, who was also his partner.
In addition to the deprivation of liberty, Maxwell, who admitted his crimes, must also pay a fine of $750,000.
This sentence is also provided thanks to the fact that during the past year a media process was released, where the testimony of many women who had been raped by Epstein was known.
Kate's testimonial
In the middle of the testimonies that have been known the most in the trial, is that of "Kate", one of the victims.
This woman said that Maxwell invited her to his house in London to meet Epstein, from there she asked him to give her a foot and shoulder massage. A few weeks later, when she was invited again, Epstein was more direct, as he undressed in a dark room, with a massage table next to it, and before she left, the massage turned into a sexual act.
"I didn't know how to say no," was what the witness told jurors.
In 2019, Jeffrey Epstein was charged with recruiting, grooming, and abusing underage youth between 1994 and 2019. One month after being in prison, he committed suicide.
It was there that the trial for his lover would begin, so Maxwell decided to take on a new identity and run away. In 2020, she was arrested by the FBI at a mansion in Bradford, New Hampshire.
