Leader of the Ladies in White in Cuba arrested
Ángel Moya, a former prisoner of the Black Spring, published the video in which you can see when his wife Berta Soler is arrested, while she was walking alone, with a flower in her hand and dressed in white.
In a video published on social networks, it is observed when eight women are in charge of surrounding the activist Berta Soler, while four men try to cover the act, with a poster.
This Sunday, Soler was arrested by the Cuban regime, when leaving her house to attend a mass, to request the release of political prisoners in Cuba.
Her husband, Ángel Moya, published the video on his Facebook account, indicating that State Security repressors, while dressed in civilian clothes, detained Berta Soler, who is a leader of the organization.
This video of the arrest outraged many Cubans. One of them acclaimed the Ladies in White, assuring that the courage of a woman contains the glory of all Cuban citizens.
Another user made a criticism pointing out the height of the men they use to carry out this act, by arresting an unarmed woman and how they use a poster to cover up intimidation, repression, and evade their right to freedom of thought, freedom and peaceful demonstration.
In an announcement, the Ladies in White announced that this month they would resume their walks on Sundays, to peacefully request the release of political prisoners on the island.
However, when preparing to leave the organization, this Sunday, the group of women was arrested along with the mother of the adolescent deprived of liberty for his participation in the protests, Bárbara Farrat.
Soler sent a message to the relatives of political prisoners on Saturday, despite the repression. He asked them not to allow the government to silence them with their intimidating actions.
This organization, which for years has fought for freedom, indicates that they need the relatives of the prisoners to join this fight, and to be in the front row, since fighting is a right.
Official data shows that 790 citizens of the island have been prosecuted for participating in the July 11 protests. Several of these people have tax petitions of up to 30 years and seven of the protesters are on a hunger strike in jail.
