70 orphaned children arrive in kyiv hospital

The nurses fight to keep them alive.

This is perhaps the hardest part of the war to tell. Faced with reality, the kyiv hospital continues to receive and care for children who have been orphaned in the constant Russian bombing.

Most of them are between two and three months old and suffer from cardiac pathologies.

Without families or someone to look for them, months-old children have arrived at the hospital in the Ukrainian capital. For the most part, the death of their parents is confirmed and they are kept in care until they find the whereabouts of a relative.

70 neonates in kyiv are in critical condition.

Conditions require urgent medical attention

Some of the children arrive in critical condition and require urgent medical attention and treatment. In some cases, open-heart surgery has had to be performed. They require incubators and advanced medical equipment to keep them alive.

We know that due to the war the hospital lacks some of the highest priority supplies and basically the lives of the little ones continue to be at risk. Due to the moments of tension due to the continuous bombing, a stable process of family search for a home is almost impossible.

The nurses have assumed the role of mother with all the little ones and minute by minute they supervise their care, feeding and assigned treatments.

Ukraine attentive to enabling some adoption processes

Ukraine has in some cases raised possible adoption processes, but due to the constant tension of bombing, a stable legal system has not been possible.

The possibility remains open as soon as the children are relocated to a safer place for the process.

It will be the same as a complete and legal process, since the condition of the family requesting the adoption will be evaluated.

Medical personnel work in fear of being bombed

The medical personnel maintain the 70 neonates and the rest of the patients with all possible care, although with few supplies, to maintain their health at a good level, despite the fear that at some point they may be targets of bombing.

In some of the main care centers in kyiv, people live in the uncertainty of the attacks and are kept in the basements even when the alarms do not sound.
