Barcelona comes back on the end
This Sunday the match corresponding to matchday 31 of LaLiga took place at the Ciudad de Valencia stadium between Levante and Barcelona, a match that the locals began by winning, but the culé team culminated the comeback in the addition.
Before this match, those led by Xavi knew that Real Madrid and Sevilla had won in their corresponding matches. The Blaugrana, if they wanted to continue with their aspirations to fight for the title, had to win this difficult match.
The game began with a constant siege on the goal defended by Ter Stegen where, just in the first minute, specifically at 20 seconds, Morales took a shot from outside the area that went very close to the far post.
In the same first minute, Barcelona responded through De Jong, but his shot went wide. In the first few minutes, moreover, both teams disputed possession of the ball and tried to create some chances, but without worrying the goalkeepers much.
But at minute 28, Morales started with a ball from the left wing and began to dribble defenses and then entered the area through the center and went hand in hand with Ter Stegen, but the shot was stopped by the goalkeeper with his foot and hand. With the power of the shot, the ball bounced and was about to enter the goal line, but Eric García manages to clear it in time.
Thus both teams would continue creating chances, but the goalkeepers managed to leave their goals unbeaten and thus they would go to rest. Starting the second half, at 48', Barcelona would have a clear shot after a Dembelé center down the right wing and the ball was headed by Ferrán Torres, but Dani Cárdenas managed to deflect it.
However, at 49' Dani Alves commits a foul on Son inside the area and the referee does not hesitate to award the maximum penalty. After the VAR showed the penalty, at 51' Morales charged from eleven paces and scored the first goal of the match.
At minute 54 in a new Levante attack, there is a handball by Eric García in the Barcelona area. The referee signals a penalty again and Roger Martí was in charge of collecting this time. His shot was stopped by the culé goalkeeper.
However, at 59' an attack by the visitors through Dembelé from the right wing ended in a cross sent by the Frenchman so that Aubameyang scored a partial equalizer with a header.
The Catalans would score another goal at minute 63 and this time through Pedri. The play began, again, on the right wing where Gavi, dribbling past several defenders, entered the area and then passed it to Pedri who finished off with his right foot and sent it into the back of the net to convert the partial 1-2.
The locals would try to tie the game in the final minutes and would do so after getting the third penalty, when Lenglet blocked Dani Gómez at minute 81. Melero took the maximum penalty and scored the partial 2-2.
Levante went on the attack to try to get the comeback, but the Barcelona coach decides to use up his last changes at minute 88. Aubameyang and Dembélé are replaced by Adama and Luuk de Jong.
The Dutchman would score the winning goal for the Catalans at 90+2', when they sent him a center down the left wing and the striker headed the goalkeeper's post. Those led by Xavi win and reach second position with 60 points, the same as Sevilla and 12 units from Madrid, which is still the leader with seven games to go.
