Barcelona, the only Spanish team in the Europa League quarterfinals

With two goals, Barcelona managed to come back and seal their pass to the next round.

This Thursday the second leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 16 was held at the NEF Stadyumu where Galatasaray received Barcelona and the Catalans won with a final score of 1-2.

The first leg had been held at the Camp Nou last Thursday, March 10, and on that occasion the Turks managed to keep a goalless goal thanks to a great performance by goalkeeper Iñaky Peña and therefore, both teams faced this game with the hope of move on to the next round.

The match began with some not very clear chances for both teams, but the first warning came at minute 6 by the locals, a long pass fell to Gomis and the player made two good cuts in the area, but Ter Stegen managed to neutralize the action.

The next minute Gomis also had the opportunity, touching a ball that came from a corner, but without much danger to the Barcelona area. At 8 ', Ferrán Torres took a shot outside the area that went wide and the next minute Frenkie De Jong receives a filtered pass from Busquets that leaves him hand in hand with the goalkeeper, but he does not define well.

After some intense first minutes in both areas, moments of calm came in which each team studied the other, but without generating dangerous plays, until at 28' Cicaldau took a corner and Marcão finished it off by sending it into the back of the net. 1-0 on the scoreboard and the Turks began to believe in qualifying.

However, the celebration would not last long, since in minute 36, Pedri received a pass in the area and, threatening to shoot on goal twice, took the mark of two defenders and scored a great goal. Nothing to do for Iñaki Peña and a partial tie on the scoreboard.

Before the end of the first half, at 45+3', Aubameyang received a cross into the box and headed it off the crossbar before going wide. The culé team almost scored and that is how they would go to rest.

Starting the second half, Xavi makes his first change. He takes out Traoré and puts in Dembelé. At 48' the Blaugrana will score the last goal of the game. The play begins when they attended to Van Aanholt and Xavi's men, taking advantage of their numerical superiority, finished off twice, but Peña saved, the third was by Aubameyang to score the final 1-2.

The home team tried to equalize on several occasions after this goal. One from Van Aanholt in the 59th minute, but his left footed shot went very close to the crossbar. Another shot by Mohamed to the side of the net at 76' and perhaps the clearest was at 80', when Aktürkoglu, entering the area, passed it for Morutan to arrive at the far post, but he narrowly missed.

It should be noted that in minutes 85 and 86 two bottles fell from the stands on Jordi Alba and he, angry, responded to the fans with a ball. In the end, the referee decides to give the Spanish player a yellow card.

The last minutes were characterized by attacks from Barcelona, Ferrán, Dembelé and Depay starred in them, but without managing to extend the advantage. In this way, the Catalans qualify for the quarterfinals, being the only Spanish team to achieve it.

Sevilla could not with West Ham

Yarmolenko scored the winning goal in extra time.

Next, the match between West Ham and Sevilla was held at the Olympic Stadium in London. A very exciting game, where the English managed to tie the overall score with their goal in regulation time and then scored in extra time and managed to eliminate the six-time champion.

The match began in London with an advantage for the visitors from the first leg, where Sevilla won by a goal at the Sánchez Pizjuán. However, Lopetegui's men were unable to manage that result and at minute 39' in a West Ham attack, Antonio sent a cross into the area that Soucek headed into the back of the net. 1-0 partial.

The tie was tied, the 'hammers' were more and with that result they would go to rest. Sevilla would try to score in the second half and at 54', in an attack where En-Nesyri entered from the right of the area, he took out a powerful shot that went wide.

They would not generate many more dangerous chances in the second half and with that result they would go into extra time. The six-time champions were preparing for a penalty shootout that never came, since at 112' Fornals receives from the left wing and heading to the edge of the area, takes a shot that Bono stops and the rebound is left to Yarmolenko who finishes off and scores.

In this way, he scored 2-0 (2-1 on aggregate) and West Ham qualified for the quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa League. Sevilla fails to make it to the 'Seventh', whose final will be at the Sánchez Pizjuán.
