Lviv feels the fury of Russian attacks
The missiles were launched from the Black Sea
The city of Lviv was attacked by Russian troops for the first time since the invasion of Ukraine began. The military launched missiles on the airport of the town, which is 70 kilometers from Poland.
This point had been one of the safest places and served as a humanitarian corridor where thousands of Ukrainians fled the war. In addition, it set off the alarms of the members of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization ( NATO ).
It is not the first time that a city near Poland has been attacked by invading forces. The city of Yavoriv was the target of attacks last Sunday, while the previous Friday the Lutsk air base, 87 kilometers from the border, was targeted by missiles.
Maksym Kozytsky, head of the Lviv regional military administration, reported that the missiles were launched from the Black Sea, some were intercepted by the Ukrainian military, but the 4 that raised the city were unsuccessful.
While the mayor, Andriy Sadovy, explained that the site where the impact occurred was destroyed. The facility repaired planes and luckily it was no longer working
Kozysky mentioned the attack and emphasized that the “attack confirms that (the Russians) are not at war with the Ukrainian Army, they are at war with the people, the women, the children, the refugees. There is nothing sacred to them."
In his opinion, this attack represents "a blow" to the humanitarian corridor, where thousands of people left Ukraine for Poland, in search of refuge.
