Shooting at Texas elementary school leaves 21 dead

A news that has shocked the world, a shooting that took place at the elementary school in Uvalde, a town in Texas, located about 14º, kilometers west of San Antonio.

The perpetrator of the massacre, an 18-year-old who was also part of the academic institution, entered the school armed shortly after 11:00 am, hid in a classroom, and began shooting nonstop.

The young man identified as Salvador Ramos, was killed on the spot by the security forces who were trying to stop the fire.

In the statements, Texas Governor Greg Abbott noted that 19 of the deceased are students. Two teachers also died, including Eva Mireles and Irma García.

Likewise, he stressed that the information given is that the young man, before going to the Primary School, shot his grandmother, took her vehicle that he left abandoned near the institution, and began to shoot "in an atrocious and senseless manner."

In a press conference, Greg Abbott also pointed out that many of these events are caused by mental health problems, so he mentioned that work must be done to avoid these actions.

About the attacker

The motives are still unknown, only the aggressor has been identified as Salvador Ramos. The police have released a photo of the culprit, and you can see a young man with long jet-colored hair, with some impurities on his face.

It was learned that through his Instagram account, that the man had published an image four days before, where two semi-automatic shotguns can be seen. He had bought his weapons after his 18th birthday, on May 16.

For now the streets of Uvalde are full of grief, pain, and a lot of anguish. A tragedy that affected the entire community.
