Thailand: 2nd oil spill in 3 weeks
The Gulf of Thailand suffered the second oil spill, generating concern in the Thai authorities.
This Thursday, the second oil spill occurred again in the Gulf of Thailand, which generates great concern, since this has been repeated in 3 weeks.
It is known that the oil spill was generated by an underwater pipeline, which was being repaired around the rigging.
With this, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha gave an order to the Navy and the Marine Department of the Ministry of Transportation to work hard to contain the spill.
To do this, they deployed floating containment barriers, with chemical substances, which prevent the spread of crude oil.
One of the largest spills in the Gulf of Thailand was recorded at the beginning of the current year, because one of the leaks that occurred spilled at least 60 tons of crude oil.
The precautions that are currently taken are in order to save the fauna and flora, since with each spill small particles fall to the bottom of the sea, contaminating it.
