Elon Musk's proposals to "improve Twitter" and that concern users
A few days ago it became known that the tycoon Elon Musk had become a shareholder of Twitter. Musk bought 10% of the company's shares, becoming the largest shareholder.
This was one of those news stories that had many people who were happy, but others who became naysayers.
It has little as a shareholder and has already begun to cause controversy, since it is promoting a series of "improvements", which can change the social network forever. Some even say that it will lose its essence.
It has conducted some public surveys on features that might be of interest to users. The result of these has also resulted in proposals for the social network.
The improvements promoted by Elon Musk
Among the main improvements that Musk is looking for to be implemented on Twitter, we have the following:
Authentication marks for Twitter Blue
One of the main ideas he has for the social network is the implementation of authentication marks for Twitter Blue users. This is a paid service where users pay a $3 per month subscription and offers some “premium” benefits.
But not only has he talked about authentication marks, but he has also said that the subscription should be annual and not monthly. In addition, the brand would be granted after 60 days and in the event that the account is used improperly, they must be suspended without the right to a refund.
Editable tweets?
Another thing you've talked about is the possibility that tweets can be edited. So far, the social network does not allow a tweet to be edited once it has been published, they can only be completely deleted.
This new feature would include an edit button, allowing people to change their words at will. Of course, it is not specified if this button would allow to modify it during the first minutes or if it could be done at any time.
This is one of those features that users are not so sure about. And it is that Twitter has always allowed people to express their ideas. This would allow people to edit the posts as they wish, which could make it lose its essence.
He also complained that some personalities did not publish enough
Another thing he talked about (although he rather complained) was that some famous people did not use the social network frequently. Many of the accounts with the most followers very rarely tweet, he gave as an example former President Barack Obama, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, among others.
For example, he mentioned that Justin Bieber had only posted one tweet so far this year. This for him is unacceptable and he questioned his Twitter was dying.
Let us remember that he is one of the most active celebrities on this social network, since he posts personal messages, thoughts and memes on a daily basis.
