Preparation of chickpeas with chorizo

One of the previous preparations that you must make is to clean the chickpeas well and leave them soaking for at least 12 hours.

  1. When you start cooking, do not forget to drain them well so that no trace of gelatin remains on the grains.

  2. Now, in a pot, put a little oil and fry the onions previously chopped into very small pieces.

  3. When they have taken color, add the garlic cloves, carrots, red pepper and a tablespoon of sweet pepper powder.

  4. We mix very well and let the flavors integrate, for at least 6 minutes.

  5. At the end of the time, we remove from the heat and take to the pressure cooker. If you don't have any, you should only cook for 1 hour over medium heat and the other half hour over low heat.

  6. Whatever your choice, you must add the vegetables, a chorizo, the chickpeas and the potatoes along with the water and salt.

  7. When you have heated the mixture, season to taste with salt and pepper. When you have done it, close the pot and wait about 20 minutes.

  8. At the end of the time, very carefully, lower the heat, let the pressure out and open them. If you notice that there is a lot of liquid left, you can leave cooking uncovered until it reduces.

Do not forget to take the opportunity to rectify the taste, taking into account that according to the type of chorizo you have used, it will be more or less balanced. In addition, over time the chickpeas will acquire flavor.

If you wish, you can simply make some chickpeas with vegetables, following this recipe, increasing the amount of vegetables, varying them or simply without adding the chorizo.

Preparation of Indian pacoras with chickpea flour

  1. The first thing you should do is steam the broccoli.

  2. While it is, you can wash the rest of the vegetables and then chop them.

  3. When you have the broccoli ready, add the zucchini and the chopped onion, to be crushed in the blender or any utensil you have.

  4. Add the rest of the ingredients, except the oil, to create a dough.

  5. Prepare a cauldron with oil. When it is very hot, form balls of the dough with your hands or cutlery.

  6. Add them to the oil very carefully to avoid burning. Let them take color for a few minutes.

  7. When they are ready, take them to an absorbent paper to remove any excess oil they may have. And that's it!

You can make several in one batch, depending on how big you make them. You can serve them as an appetizer if you make them bite-sized.

There are those who like to eat the pacoras hot, however, it usually has a slightly dry texture. If it is your opinion, you can accompany it with a sauce of yogurt, lemon and honey.

With these two recipes with chickpeas, you already have a few ideas to do with this nutritious bean. Dare to prepare them and tell us how it went.
