Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked the president if he suspected expansion into the United States could be a "political drag" on his party in the November midterm elections.

Biden sarcastically replied "It's a great resource, more inflation", to which he added: "What a stupid son of a bitch".

Until now, it is unknown if the president knew that his microphone was kept on at that moment, since the comment was made while the attending journalists were leaving the East Room of the White House, where the meeting was offered to deal with the issue of the inflation.

During the press conference, Biden complained that all the correspondents' questions referred to the emergency in Ukraine. So Doocy raised the question about the expansion and the president spouted this rudeness.

The episode quickly became the theme of the night in some television media, and on Fox News they spoke with Doocy, who was in charge of making a joke of the situation.

The journalist stressed that, "No one has verified for now (what Biden has said) and has said that it is not true (that I am a stupid son of a bitch)".

Following this, he was a guest on Sean Hannity's late night show on Fox News. At that time, the journalist said that Biden had called him and that the two had reconciled.

He commented that an hour after the press conference, Joe Biden contacted him by phone and assured him that it was nothing personal, that way they talked about it and ensured that they would continue.

He also revealed to Biden that he was going to continually try to ask him something more than anyone else, and that the president responded that this is what he has to do.

Doocy was asked on the show if Biden had apologized, and Doocy tried not to say so. He limited himself to saying that he liked that the president contacted him to calm things down when the nation could be close to World War III, regarding the issue of Russia with Ukraine.

Doocy has dealt with some tense exchanges with White House Rep. Jen Psaki, as her questions reflect Fox News' dovish turn and in some cases are premised on falsehood.

Until recently, Biden had not had comparative irreverence with any journalist, although last week he said that the query raised by another Fox News correspondent was "stupid."

What happened generated the analysis of different journalists before the White House, for example, Jeremy Diamond, from CNN, posted on his Twitter account that it was not right when (former president) Trump offended the press, and it is not right that Biden do it too.

Recalling that, during his term of office (2017-2021), Donald Trump continuously attacked journalists, particularly those who only offered criticism, whom he described as enemies. He also used the reference "son of a bitch" to refer to NBC host Chuck Todd.
