Lavrov: The peace proposal we sent to Ukraine remains unanswered
This Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov assured that five days have passed since Moscow sent Ukraine a proposal to reach peace and they have not yet received a response, so they consider that the talks will not advance.
In his opinion, the negotiations are “stalled” and he questioned that the Ukrainian president pointed out that he has not received the proposal, however, Moscow assures that the document was handed over to the spokesmen of Kiev in the dialogue.
Lavrov emphasized that, in his opinion, Zelensky is not "informed of the situation", therefore he replied that he does not know the content of the peace proposal.
For the minister, it is "strange" that various Ukrainian officials, including the head of state, give statements dismissing a possible agreement between the two parties, taking into account that they are the most affected, for which he stated that "they suggest that they do not need to negotiate, they have simply resigned themselves to their fate".
At the same time, he stressed that it is not important to speculate on a possible place to hold the meeting, but, on the contrary, the points to be discussed should be discussed, but as long as Ukraine denies having received the proposal and therefore does not give an answer, no progress will be made..
Regarding Zelensky's sentence on the Ukrainian troops trapped in Mariupol, where he stated that if the siege continued, the dialogue would end, Lavrov said that "we do not tolerate any ultimatum."
