Russia and Ukraine agree to a temporary "ceasefire"
The Russian and Ukrainian commissions held a meeting this Thursday to determine agreements that lead to an end to the clashes
After having had a first phase of negotiations on Monday, February 28, where they did not reach any type of agreement, both parties had indicated that the dialogue process would continue.
On the second day of talks between the two countries on Thursday, Ukraine's main spokesman, Mykhailo Podoliak, said they had managed to agree on a truce to establish a temporary ceasefire.
This agreement will be executed under the condition of the joint creation of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians, the entry of non-lethal supplies and the evacuation of dead bodies.
In this context, the Ukrainian spokesman said that the meeting did not produce the expected results, therefore, a third day of talks will be held.
However, the measure of a ceasefire has been well received by the international community and different people of the world.
The new agreements between Ukraine and Russia are reached on the eighth day of the war on Ukrainian territory. The meeting was held in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, Belarusian region of Brest, near the border with Poland.
In general terms, it was detailed that both parties reached an understanding, where Russia maintained its main demands: the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the recognition of Russian control in the Crimean peninsula, the recognition of the independence of Donetsk and Lugansk and that Ukraine maintain a neutral stance in NATO.
