Russia assures that meeting between Putin and Zelensky will not be soon
Vladimir Medisnki, chief Russian negotiator, ruled out the possibility of an early meeting between the president of Ukraine, Volodímir Zelenski, and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, since the agreement must be drafted for this.
These words came after David Arkhamia, spokesman in the negotiations for kyiv, declared that the meeting between the two heads of state could be "very soon", so Medinski pointed out that "there is still a lot of work to be done".
Similarly, he announced that the negotiations will resume from Monday, but no longer in person, but via videoconference, to continue finalizing the details with a view to defining the document that Putin and Zelensky would sign.
Putin ready to negotiate
Dmitri Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin, assured that Vladimir Putin has at no time refused to negotiate with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodímir Zelensky, but stressed that there is a great possibility that both leaders will meet; however, it is essential that for this there is an agreement already drafted with the most relevant points of both sides.
At the same time, Peskov recalled that the Minsk Peace Agreement for Donbas, which had been carried out for 7 years between Ukraine and Russia, failed - in his opinion - due to non-compliance by kyiv, which is why they launched the " special military operation” thus avoiding a genocide.
The spokesman also emphasized that Russia has every intention of "normalizing the situation", so they are making every effort so that the agreement has the necessary points and both nations are satisfied, to later sign it.
