Tadeo: The case of the body of a baby stolen and found in a prison in Mexico
The little boy was exhumed without authorization from the Iztapalapa cemetery
According to the investigations carried out by the Mexican Attorney General's Office, there was still no information on the removal of the body of the three-month-old baby, found in the San Miguel prison dump, in Puebla, Mexico.
The boy's body was found by one of the inmates, in the food waste spaces of the state prison. The baby was found with an incision in the abdomen, and a hospital bracelet, which indicated that he had died 5 days earlier.
The details are not yet clear, but the Mexican authorities have made it known that the baby was admitted to the prison on January 13.
The collaboration of the organization Reinserta
Much of the development of the case was carried out thanks to the collaboration of the Reinserted Organization, who denounced that the baby had been stolen from a cemetery in the capital.
For the organization, the authorities of Puebla had to clarify the entry of the baby and explain: how did he enter the prison, without any record? In addition to that, it should be explained if the infant's body was used to transport drugs.
Given all these hypotheses, Puebla authorities have declared that the child was exhumed without authorization from the Iztapalapa cemetery.
Tadeo's family discovered that their son who died on January 5, who had also undergone abdominal surgeries, was the little boy found in the "talacheros" area, the prison's waste area.
The little boy had been stolen from the cemetery, and thrown in the waste of the San Miguel prison in Puebla, about 140 kilometers from where the infant's family lived.
Saskia Nino de Rivera, director of Reinserta, has stated that she is in contact with the boy's relatives, but they have refused to continue giving statements, since they are threatened.
The baby's body was handed over to his parents.
The body of the baby was transferred to Mexico City, to carry out the Holy Sepultura again; This was announced by the Mexico City Prosecutor's Office, who also added that the child's family has received financial, legal and psychological support from the institution.
