Video shows the moment in which a helicopter crashes on the beach in Miami Beach
Only two people were injured
This Saturday an aircraft fell into the water, in South Miami, in a tourist area between Ocean Drive and 10th Street in Miami. The people who occupied the ship survived.
Only two people were transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital, to the Ryder Trauma Center area, and they are stable. None of the bathers was injured, but there was panic among the attendees.
One of the witnesses, named Rico Jiménez, assured that when he turned around, the helicopter quickly fell into the water.
Another attendee stated that people were very curious, and even started running before the emergency team arrived.
Francisca Castro, a tourist from Chile, reported that she had heard that something had fallen, but she could not see it, since she was arriving at that moment.
In the videos that circulate on social networks, it can be seen when the helicopter is a few meters from the sea, and a few meters from the sand, while the propellers continued to turn.
At the time, the cause of the accident is not known. However, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), maintains an investigation of the case to find out what caused this event. For this reason between 9th and 11th streets are permanently closed.
The FAA statement states the following:
“A Robinson R44 helicopter crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near Miami Beach, Florida under unknown circumstances at approximately 1:20 p.m. local time today. Three people were on board. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate. The NTSB will be conducting the investigation and will provide further updates."
