Cut, peel and wash the vegetables into small pieces, place in a bowl and reserve.
In a bowl we add 260 ml of oil and the garlic powder, cumin and thyme and beat.
In a tray we place a sheet of parchment paper and there we will put our chicken. We tie the legs and cover it with the spice oil, moistening it well, turn it over and repeat the process.
Bake the chicken at 135º C for 35 minutes.
While the chicken is baking, we sauté the vegetables in a little oil with a little oil. Also add some bay leaves and cover the pan, letting it cook for 10 minutes over low heat.
Sauté the vegetables again and add the potatoes. We include two heaping tablespoons of butter and sauté again for 5 minutes.
Take the chicken out of the oven after cooking time and place it on a plate breast side up, placing the sautéed vegetables around it.
Coat the chicken again with the spice oil and add some prunes on top.
Put it in the oven again at 160º C for 45 more minutes.
Baked stuffed puff pastry roll
It is a delicious Christmas dinner recipe that you can prepare in a very short time. It is ideal for those who want to prepare a dinner with few ingredients and very quickly for the whole family.
Ingredients
A sheet of puff pastry.
An egg white.
4 slices of sliced bread.
50 grams of butter.
100 grams of prunes.
200 grams of sliced Gouda cheese.
150 grams of cooked ham.
Steps for preparation
Take four loaves of bread and flatten them with a rolling pin.
Cut two strips of the puff pastry for the preparation, cut into smaller strips, all the same and reserve.
Chop the plums into small pieces and reserve.
On a flat surface, spread the puff pastry and spread the entire surface with melted butter.
On top, we place a layer of crushed bread, always leaving at least three centimeters from the edges and cover with melted butter.
On the sliced bread, place the slices of cooked ham and the slices of Gouda cheese, covering the entire surface.
In the center, we will place the prunes, forming a row.
Take one of the edges and fold towards the center by one centimeter. Repeat this process for the other end.
Begin rolling at the other end, being careful not to tear the layers. We seal the final edge with a little butter. On top, decorate by making a braid design with the strips cut at the beginning.
We beat an egg white and paint the roll with it.
Bake at 160º C, with heat up and down for 30 minutes.
After this time, remove from the oven, cut into slices and serve with the rest of the Christmas dishes.
Iberian ham croquettes
It is one of the easy recipes for Christmas ideal for those who do not consider themselves experts in the culinary arts. With it, you can surprise your family and friends with a delicious dish that does not require too much time.
Ingredients
250 grams of Iberian ham cut into pieces.
200 grams of breadcrumbs.
1500 grams of milk.
550 grams of flour.
300 ml of olive oil.
Garlic powder.
Salt to taste.
2 onions.
Nutmeg.
Cumin.
Pepper to taste
1 bunch of parsley.
2 cloves of garlic
Steps for preparation
Cut the onions into small pieces, as well as the garlic, the bunch of parsley and the Iberian ham.
In a frying pan, add the oil and place the previously chopped elements there, except the ham, and let it fry for a couple of minutes with the pan covered, without allowing the oil to evaporate too much.
Add 250 grams of flour to the pan and beat with a whisk. Add the chopped ham and continue beating to integrate well.
Add the 1250 ml of milk to the pan and continue beating until it thickens. You will know that the dough is ready when it stops sticking to the pan.
Pour the mixture into a tray or container wide enough and spread well over the entire surface. We cover the tray with transparent plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
Once this time has passed, form elongated balls with the dough. In a bowl we place the ground bread, the flour and the 250 ml of milk. Also, pour enough oil into a skillet and heat.
We pass each of the balls, first through the flour, then through the milk and finally through the ground bread. We leave the croquettes on a tray for 10 minutes.
Take the croquettes and fry until golden brown. Once cooked, we leave the balls on a plate with absorbent paper and let them cool a little.
Serve on a plate, to be enjoyed with the rest of the dishes at Christmas dinner.
