Linda Evangelista tells what happened with the aesthetic treatment that deformed her features
The former supermodel does everything to regain her self-esteem.
The 56-year-old Canadian supermodel allowed herself to be photographed for the first time after experiencing personal trauma caused by body fat reduction treatment, called coolsculpting, in late 2015.
The model assured that before she liked to be on the catwalk, but that after the operation, she is afraid of meeting someone she knows on the street, due to the uncommon adverse results caused to her body due to the treatment.
In 2021, Evangelista posted on his Instagram account that his disappearance from public life was due to his permanent deformation.
The treatment resulted in an increase in fat cells, instead of reducing them. This is a rare side effect. Later, he tried his reconstruction twice through surgeries, but they were unsuccessful, which caused him a strong depression.
Little by little, she has been working to regain her self-esteem and begin to love herself again. For this reason, she allowed herself to be photographed for the cover of People, in which she appears at a low angle with sweaters covering her torso and showing a serious face while looking into the camera lens.
In the interview photos, he is seen posing with a T-shirt that allows to see the side of his torso and the results left by paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH).
Linda said that at first she felt like she wasn't seeing results, so she doubled down on the diet to the point of eating absolutely nothing. I believed that with this decision I would be able to see the desired results on my chest, chin and thighs.
Between 2015 and 2016, when this happened, she decided to see a specialist and was diagnosed with PAH. This is the opposite effect which affects less than 1% of people who undergo cryopolosis. This situation has no cure.
The model also expressed in the interview that she could not wear girdles or dresses, since the friction could cause her bleeding. After this situation, she insists that for her, the supermodel ceased to exist and believes that no designer will want to dress her for her appearance.
After a long time hiding, the model said that time has given her serenity and that is why she considers that she can now be seen in public, seeing it as an option to overcome the problem.
He also says that he will continue telling his experience to forget about the shame, love himself again and help other people in this process. He confessed that he hasn't looked in the mirror for a long time.
Currently, Evangelista maintains a legal battle with Zeltiq, the aesthetic firm in charge of performing the procedure. The former supermodel reiterates that she was never told about the side effects and they are not shown in coolsculpting advertising, the website.
For this, he demands 50 million dollars as compensation. Until now, the company has not manifested itself in this regard.
