The new version of Windows 11 Pro will remove local accounts
Since the beginning of Windows, local accounts have been used, that is, user accounts that are stored directly on your computer.
Although since Windows 8 Microsoft began to link your Microsoft account with Windows, this was not mandatory. That is, you could choose whether to use it or simply use a local account.
However, since Windows 10 it has been made mandatory for users to link their Microsoft account to use the operating system. In Windows 10 it is no longer available in a "normal" way, but with a trick it could be activated.
But everything seems to indicate that in Windows 11 Pro it will be completely impossible.
You will need internet connection to install Windows 11 Pro
As it has been known in the most recent build for developers that Windows 11 Pro will need an internet connection during the installation of the operating system. This is because you will need to connect to your Microsoft account.
This means that if you do not have internet access you will not be able to install it. After installed, you will no longer need internet to use it.
This news has been widely echoed on the net, since in places where the internet connection is limited, they will not be able to enjoy the new Microsoft operating system. Additionally, we have that by linking it to your Microsoft account, it will be able to better track each step you take on the network.
Why is Microsoft removing local accounts?
This step that Microsoft has taken to eliminate local accounts has been around for some time. In other words, this is not a new measure, however, until now this was not mandatory.
The reasons for Microsoft to do this are varied, but the truth is that this allows Microsoft to have more control over what you do. In the same way, the company will be able to offer you a more precise product according to your activity on the computer.
It is important to mention that Microsoft is not the only company that requires this, as Apple does it too. However, despite the fact that Apple also requires it, the system also allows the creation of local accounts. But Microsoft has gone one step further.
Since when will local accounts be deleted in Windows?
In Windows 10 Home the creation of local accounts was no longer available, however, in the Pro version it was possible. In a recent update of the Windows insider channel it was known that this option had been removed. To be more precise, since build 22557.
Although it is not known when this feature will arrive in the stable version of Windows, the truth is that it will eventually, so you should be preparing for this.
