Windows 11 adds an option to register your credit card.

As was known, Windows has been targeting more and more what subscriptions are. That is why the company is developing different tools with a view to that. In fact, very recently it became known that an option to add your card to the system will be available.

The subscription model is gaining a lot of strength lately. This has been applied mainly in the mobile sector. However, now a large number of online services are also betting on it.

Now you can add your card to Windows to speed up purchases

Online payments are going to be more and more common, which is why Microsoft seeks to facilitate them.

In the Preview Build 22567 that has been released for the dev channel, this new feature has already been seen. To add a credit card to Windows 11 you will be able to do it from the account settings.

Once you have added it, you will be able to make purchases in a much more agile way. This is because you won't have to add your card every time you go to make a new purchase.

The scope that this option may have is not known, however, this is a clear commitment to the subscription model. Microsoft would not be the first company to do so, since it is already done on Android and Apple also does the same.

This subscription sector is growing rapidly, so it is not surprising that we are seeing an increasing number of companies and developers that are betting on this model.

It is important to note that it is not mandatory to add a credit card to use the system. When the news broke, many thought it was mandatory, however this is totally optional, at least for now.

What services are compatible with Windows subscriptions?

Microsoft is already committed to this model with tools such as Office 365.

At this time, this feature is only available for purchase of Office 365 subscriptions. However, this feature is still in testing and development.

It is expected that purchases can also be made easily in the Microsoft store. And perhaps, this can serve in the future as a means of global payment. In other words, you can buy online easily without having to insert your card at each site.

This could be compared to what Google Pay or Apple Pay is, however, we would have to see how this develops to know if it will really work this way or not.

This step by Microsoft may perhaps be criticized, however, it was something that could already be seen coming. Subscriptions to online tools like Office 365 are not new. And it is, at the moment, the most practical way to monetize them.
