The most emblematic streets of New York
We all know New York City from the movies, with its tall and iconic buildings, as well as the iconic Statue of Liberty.
New York is a city where art, culture, the beauty of its streets and gastronomy manage to entertain each one of its visitors.
The Big Apple, as it is also known, is one of the nerve centers of the world, where several of the most important companies are located, as well as being an advertising emporium, and one of the greatest symbols of the United States.
What you can see on the streets of New York City
1. Fifth Avenue
It is one of the most representative avenues in New York City, where the most famous designer stores in the world are located, enjoy excellent cuisine, and visit the most renowned luxury stores throughout the city.
However, not everything on Fifth Avenue is luxury, extravagance and fashion; since there is also room for religion, at the Cathedral of San Patricio, with its towering spires and skyscrapers around.
Another important place is the Rockeffeller Center, considered a historical landmark of New York.
Some of the most important museums in the world have their seat on this avenue, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where several works of the great masters of world painting are exhibited; or the Museum of Natural History in New York.
From Fifth Avenue you can also appreciate majestic images of the city, heading to the viewpoint of the Empire State Building ; For a long time, it was one of the largest buildings in the world.
On this important avenue you can see the yellow taxis of New York, and some of its streets decorated with American flags. Iconic postcards that we have all seen at some point.
2. Seventh Avenue
Seventh Avenue is another well-known landmark in the city, featured in numerous movies, big brand advertisements, and famous New York photographs.
This part of the city is also significant for hosting Times Square, one of the most important points in the world, to receive the new year.
In addition to Madison Square Garden and the streets of Time Square, you can visit places like: Penn Station or Pennsylvania train station, which connects the city with other nearby places in the country, such as Boston or Washington.
Located on this avenue in the heart of Manhattan, it will be easy to get around with its many taxis that can take you to Carnegie Hall, a very special place for art and culture. Or go to a recital, in the mythical jazz club where the most representative musicians of this genre played, Village Vanguard.
3.Wall Street
Do you remember those images evoked in movies and television, where thousands of people walk with their elegant suits and briefcases, heading to the most important offices, where the world's economic destiny was headed?
Wall Street is that place in New York, located in the financial heart of this city.
The main attraction is the Wall Street building, although at several points near the New York Stock Exchange; there are different street food stands, where you can enjoy a good Hot Dog, the famous pretzel, or other New York food snacks.
Another of the charms of this avenue is the Federal Hall Museum, where George Washington was named the first president of the United States.
4. 42 Street
When the train terminal station, Grand Central Terminal, was built in 1913, (another of the great attractions of this street); 42nd Street acquired prestige and value, becoming one of the most important streets in New York.
Proof of this are the great skyscrapers such as the Chrysler Building, the Ford Foundation Building, as well as the New York Public Library, which is another must-see in itself.
42nd street also surrounds well-known places in the city, such as Hell's Kitchen, the Wax Museum, or internationally renowned hotels, such as the Marriott or the Hilton.
However, one of the most important buildings in this area of New York is the United Nations; place where the presidents of the world meet annually to discuss issues of global interest.
5. Broadway Avenue
The great musicals of history have their place on this street, the longest in all of New York.
Broadway Avenue is known for hosting about 40 different theaters, and being the place where you can enjoy great shows, such as the most important musicals, great plays, and the best ballet shows in the world.
One of the most eloquent theaters on this avenue is the Majestic, which began operating in 1927; parading through its walls some of the most representative Broadway musicals, such as: " The Phantom of the Opera", "Les Miserables", "The Producers", or "The Nutcracker".
6.Central Park
The green space that New York City has is Central Park, a place of recreation for New York society; and a tourist site, thanks to the beautiful landscapes that can be seen there.
With its extension of four kilometers, this park has some of the most beautiful places in the city.
Among the most beautiful and unique places you can visit in Central Park are:
The Lake, surrounded by trees and the great green color of the vegetation, with a lake in its center, which reflects the image of the Upper West Side buildings.
Sheap Meadow, an open area of the park where the vast majority take the opportunity to rest or have a picnic.
Belvedere Castle, the Victorian-style castle located on the highest point of the entire park.
The best months to visit it are in spring and autumn, due to the beauty of the natural landscape.
7. The Statue of Liberty
A tour of New York City cannot be complete without mentioning one of its most important symbols, the Statue of Liberty.
The Statue of Liberty was delivered by the French government to celebrate American independence, and as a token of a friendly gesture between the two countries.
Its foundation in the United States was in 1886.
To get to this iconic monument, one option is to go to Battery Park, and take the State Island Ferry, which will cross the Hudson River to the Statue of Liberty.
Another option is doing the Ellis Island Tour, where in addition to seeing the Statue of Liberty, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Immigration Museum and Liberty Island.
Since its foundation in 1886, the Statue of Liberty has been considered a symbol of freedom, peace, and opportunities for immigrants, since when they arrived in the country, the first thing they did before entering the nation was to pass by this imposing monument.
