What is yellow fever?

Yellow fever consists of a viral-hemorrhagic disorder that is transmitted through the bite of infected mosquitoes. It gets its name because jaundice is one of its main symptoms, giving a yellowish color to the eyes of the patient.

Although there is now a vaccine capable of preventing it, it is still a frequent problem in Central America, Africa and South America, where not everyone has access to the vaccine due to underdevelopment.

It is characterized by presenting an evolution in four phases: incubation, acute phase, remission and intoxication, the latter being the most dangerous, presenting a 50% mortality in those affected.
