What is conjunctivitis?
Conjunctivitis is one of the most common eye diseases. It presents an inflammation in the transparent membrane that covers the white area of the eye, causing ocular redness, tearing and itching.
In most cases it is not a serious condition, but it can be very annoying for the patient.
According to the form of the contagion, four types of conjunctivitis are distinguished: viral if it is caused by the common cold virus, chemical if it is caused by some chemical products such as chlorine; bacterial when it is caused by bacteria; and allergic when the source of conjunctivitis are some allergens.
