New Mark Ruffalo series with “Doctor House”, produced by Netflix
Recently, a new Netflix series was announced that will be based on the novel written by Anthony Doerr, called “All The Light We Cannot See”.
The new production, which will have the same name, already has those who would be the main characters of the series. Previously, Aria Mia Loberti was already announced, but now it was confirmed that her co-stars would be Mark Rufallo and "Doctor House" himself, Hugh Laurie.
The new Netflix series that is in production
" All the Light We Cannot See" will be a miniseries made up of 4 episodes in which everything narrated in Doerr's novel will be developed. It should be noted that the latter was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize.
After his long time at Marvel, it seems that Ruffalo's destiny would be on the small screen, where he will even participate in "She Hulk".
Ruffalo's role
In this case, Mark will be in charge of playing Daniel LeBlanc, whose role is to be the father and mentor of the protagonist. His character is the locksmith in charge of the Natural History Museum in Paris.
The complication of the plot would be when Daniel steals a gem from the museum where he works, with the aim that the invaders seize it.
With invaders, we mean nothing more and nothing less than the Nazis, since the miniseries is set in such a time.
Therefore, Daniel must protect his daughter at all costs from the moment the Germans occupy the French capital. It is for this reason that they decide to flee taking with them the precious gem, which is known as the cursed diamond "Sea of Flames".
What will Hugh Laurie do?
Recognized for his excellent role in the famous series of doctors, "Doctor House", Laurie this time will play someone totally different.
Thus, he will embody the skins of a veteran of the First World War, whose life is constantly marked by the traumas of his mind. Each one of these, caused during his time in combat.
He will be known as Etienne LeBlanc, and is the brother of Ruffalo's character Daniel.
During the series, he will live out his days broadcasting a secret radio program that seeks to continue supporting the French Resistance.
Debuting as a protagonist is Loberti
Unknown in the acting world, Loberti will be in charge of starring in the adaptation of Doerr's book on the small screen. In this sense, it will be his debut on television at the hands of one of the largest streaming companies.
Her character, the young Marie-Laure, is a teenage daughter of Daniel LeBlanc, but who has the condition of being blind.
The teenager's path is marked by the encounter she has with a German soldier, known as Werner, who is not assigned yet.
However, both seek the same goal and that is to overcome the devastating conditions that war brings with it.
The direction of the Mark Ruffalo series: in good hands
Mainly, the person in charge of adapting what happened in the books to the small screen scripts is Steven Knight. Indeed, he was in charge of creating the famous “Peaky Blinders”. It means that the adaptation is in good hands.
On the other hand, for the direction, they turned to the experienced Shawn Levy, whose resume includes hits like "Stranger Things" or "Shadow and Bone."
As for the release date, we would have to wait for more official announcements from Netflix. And it is that, its production was barely confirmed, which will take place during the course of the year 2022.
