Russia gunned down Ukrainian mayor Yuri Prilipko

Gostomel has been one of the key cities for Russia since the invasion began. This town, which is close to kyiv, has the Kyiv Antonov airport, which was controlled by Russian troops on February 24.

In this town, a humanitarian corridor had been deployed to Chernobyl and also to Gomel and Gden, both cities in Belarus. The mission was to expedite the transfer of those regulated by air.

The United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) has detailed that, as of Monday, the number of people displaced by the war has risen to 1.73 million people.
