Preparation of the Finnish pulla bread recipe
This recipe can take at least 3 hours considering the standing time.
1. We make the yeast react in the warm milk with a little sugar and flour.
2. Mix very well and cover with a cloth for at least 30 minutes.
3. Now, in a bowl we place the flour and the rest of the sugar with the cardamom and salt.
4. Then, in the center we add the egg and the fermented mixture.
5. We unite everything, add the raisins and knead until the dough is homogeneous and elastic.
6. In this way, you can create a ball that you must then place in a greased mold in which we will let it rest covered.
When it has grown twice, knead a little, cover it again and let it rest for 1 more hour.
7. Preheat the oven at 200 °C and prepare a tray.
8. Next, we divide the dough into 3 similar parts. We form 3 long rolls, and then we create a braid joining very well at the ends.
9. Afterwards, we place on the tray and take to the oven after painting with beaten egg and adding almonds.
10. We take it to the oven for 30 minutes so that it takes on a crisp and golden appearance.
11. At the end of the time, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a rack. And that's it!
