2019 Emmy Awards Nominees Announced
Today the nominees for the 2019 Emmy Awards have been announced, which are scheduled to take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on September 22. The list of nominees has highlighted the "Game of Thrones" series, which has managed to break a new record with 36 nominations in just this installment.
Those in charge of announcing the winners, totally live, were Ken Jeong and D'Arcy Carden, who animated the event and pronounced the entire list of nominees in a very particular way, which is characteristic of these artists.
The series with the most nominations, and which has broken the record for the most nominations for an Emmy gala, was the last season of "Game of Thrones". In total, the HBO series garnered 32 nominations across its multiple categories.
"Game of Throne" has become the most nominated series in the history of the Emmys with a total of 164 nominations (previously it also held the record with 132 nominations). In addition, this series already holds the record as the TV series most awarded by this academy with a total of 38 awards.
The series with the second most nominations was "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel", which obtained a total of 20 nominations, competing mainly in the comedy categories.
Other series that are worth mentioning would be "Barry" with 17 nominations and "Chernobyl" with 19 nominations. In this way, it is observed that a variety of series have been nominated for various categories for this season of the Emmys.
As for the studios or production companies with the most nominations, the two largest have changed positions this year. In this way, HBO consolidates itself in first place with 137 nominations, while Netflix would have 117 nominations.
