American Airlines asks passenger to be covered by inappropriate attire

Last june 30th the airline American Airlines he experienced a rather unforeseen and controversial event, when a stewardess asked one of his passengers to cover himself due to his “inappropriate attire”. What this airline would not know is that its passenger would publish said altercation in social networks generating great impact around the world.

Tisha Rowe, American doctor, was the crew member who lived this altercation with the airline American Airlines. In this way, Rowe decided to publish this story in his account twitter accompanied by photographs of the attire for which he was requested to cover himself because he was inadequate.

In addition, Rowe accompanied his tweet with a message about american Airlines requests and threats from the flight lines:

This is what I was wearing when @AmericanAir asked me to get off the plane to talk. At that time he asked me to cover me. In defending my attire, I was threatened with not returning to the flight unless I walked down the aisle wrapped in a blanket.

Accusations of Tisha Rowe and reaction of American Airlines

Tisha Rowe was enraged with this whole case, accusing the airline of having a lack of empathy, of racists and discriminants towards the type of body that has. All this, made Rowe decided to make public this event in all kinds of media.

Rowe had an interview with the media Buzzfeed News, where he lashed out again against American Airlines. In his statements he points out that the airline had a very inadequate behavior toward their person:

For me, there was never empathy or apology, no attempt to maintain my dignity in the whole situation

The statements and accusations of Tisha Rowe, caused that American Airlines made a statement announcing that they had apologized to Rowe and that they were extremely proud of all types of passengers traveling on their flights:

We were concerned about Dr. Rowe's comments and communicated with her and our team at the Kingston airport to gather more information about what happened. We are proud to serve clients from all backgrounds and are committed to providing a positive and safe travel experience for all those who fly with us.

In addition to all this, American Airlines has decided reimburse the value of the trip to Tisha Rowe.
